Hot Topics

Hot Topics (HTs) are short, concise, scientifically based answers to current questions Registered Dietitians may receive. HTs are not comprehensive and they are not ADA positions. HTs are meant to assist RDs in answering quick questions of patients/clients and the media with scientifically sound information. A Hot Topic:

  • Has significant effect on consumer health;
  • Is valuable to ADA and membership;
  • Is newsworthy with consideration to risks/benefits of a public response;
  • Will clarify controversy (myth versus truth) based on current science and will not reflect unsubstantiated opinion.

The Association Positions Committee (APC) oversees the position development process as well the Hot Topic process. Questions/comments may be sent to ppapers@eatright.org.
